There was only one other camper in the campground so it was very quiet.

We left LRSP Friday morning and took our time getting to Blythe Island on Friday afternoon. Something that caught our attention was the number of domesticated rabbits running around all over the place.Saturday, February 3
On Saturday, we drove to Fort Frederica, a National Monument in the National Park system. In the early 18th century, the land lying between British South Carolina and Spanish Florida was known as the debatable land. This land (today's Georgia) was the epicenter of a centuries-old imperial conflict between Spain and Britain.
Fort Frederica was established in 1736 by James Oglethorpe to protect the southern boundary of his new colony of Georgia from the Spanish in Florida. Colonists from England, Scotland, and the Germanic states came to Georgia to support this endeavor.
We also visited historic Brunswick, GA, which is claimed to be the origination of Brunswick stew July 2, 1898. (some also claim Brunswick, VA is the origination of the stew)
