Further south (and warmer)

On February 10th, we continued further south and stayed at Highlands Hammock State Park.  This was a great place to bike and explore the boardwalks over the swamp.

After leaving HHSP, our next stop is South Bay RV Park.  This is a fantastic place.  It is owned by the county, all the roads and almost perfectly level campsites are paved, the grounds are meticulously maintained, and every site has water, sewer, electric, and WiFi.  For security, there is a moat around the campground that has alligators in it and an electric entry and exit gate.  There is a small lake inside the park where people fish.  Across the road is a levee around Lake Okeechobee with a paved bike path on top of the levee.  There are lots of wading birds and other wildlife.
White Ibis birds wondering around the campgrounds eating insects and other ground dwellers.

Our rv is facing toward the camera, just 'above' the red truck, from the top of the levee.

More wildlife on the bike path.

The temperature at 6am this morning was 71 degrees.  I certainly enjoy the warm sunny weather.
