Canyonlands and Arches National Parks

We stayed at Dead Horse Point State Park which is about half way between Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. Our plan is to be here for three days until our older daughter and her family meet up with us then stay an extra four days hiking with them in both national parks.  I have to say, I prefer Canyonlands NP over The Grand Canyon NP. The reasons are, Canyonlands is not filled with multiple tour buses filled with 100,000 of my closest friends, and you get to be closer to the canyon rim and can see across it.  All of the pictures below are from Canyonlands NP.

Below is Aztec Butte, the highest point in Canyonlands NP.  We hiked this twice, once by ourselves and again with Kristin and her family.  You have to scramble up the rock near the top, then once you get there, there is a hiking trail on the top.

The view from Grand View Point

OBSERVATION: Even though it is not crowded at all, it is rather surprising as to the number of international visitors.
