We were able to see inside the windmill to see how the "miller" and his family lived. Sleeping compartments for the children.
We continued on down the river to our next stop, Cologne, Germany, and viewed a cathedral, inside and out.
These are called "stumble stones" that are made of brass placed by Jewish family members honoring those that were captured and forced to go to one of the concentration camps of the Nazi's.
Our next stop was at the Marksburg castle in Braubach, Germany. Well preserved, today it houses the offices and the apartment of the general manager of the Deutsche Burgenvereiningung (German Castles Association). It is the only German castle that never received any damage from bombings.
