Late September through mid October

Taking the rv, we went from Ohio up through Pennsylvania, New York, then down the Blue Ridge parkway starting in Virginia.  Our first stop was Allegheny State Park in New York, then we took the Jeep and drove on down to Kinzua Bridge SP in Pennsylvania to see this railroad trestle that was destroyed by a tornado in 2003. Today, the viaduct has been reinvented as the Kinzua Sky Walk - a spectacular walk way that once again allows the public to "Walk the Tracks Across the Sky".  Not for the faint hearted, part of the observation deck has a glass bottom that allows visitors to look down at the remaining towers supporting this historic structure.

We also stopped at the Zippo lighter and Case knife factory in Bradford, PA.

On Tuesday, October 1st, we continued on up to Letchworth State Park in New York. Letchworth was declared "The most beautiful state park in the United States" by some national state park evaluating organization.  I have to say, I think they were correct in making that declaration.

Even this small orange lizard was unusual to see.

From Letchworth SP, we continued on to Keuka Lake SP where we also visited Watkins-Glen SP.  The glen was breathtaking and pictures do not do it justice.  But here are some pics to give you some appreciation of it.

We then started down the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Even though it was October, there were very few fall foliage opportunities.

We returned home, unpacked and washed the rv, then repacked for our next trip.
